I think the series's gonna be a lot of fun. I'm working on the cover for issue 3 right now, and I'm very excited to read the story. The whole creative team is very fond of the characters, and I think they'll bring the right combination of fun and action to a title like this.
Gorgeous work. I'm a huge fan of Hawkeye and Mockingbird, and a fan of your work, and when I saw this on CBR I think I may have let out an entirely fangirlish (and uncharacteristic, I assure you) squeal of delight. Beautifully done, and I'm particularly thrilled to see your take on one of my favorite couples in comics.
Thank you so much, Emily. I'm really happy to read such comment as I'm also very fond of the characters. I remember reading the first Hawkeye mini series in the 80's (when he first met Mockingbird), and later WCA. Good times Thanks again for the great feedback!
I remember seeing Lopez's Mockingbird redesigns and thinking they were VERY well done, but still in keeping with the spirit of the character. The issues themselves IIRC had a less than stellar colorist who killed the lineart. I'm going to look for this when it hits the stands and keep my fingers crossed for a competent colorist.
if CD isn't copying Marvel then it's vice versa. Green Arrow black Canary anyone? If it ends in them getting married I'm going to blow a valve.
Thanks! Yeah, Marvel and DC have a long history in copying each others. I remember how fun I thought it was when they married Hawkeye to this blond karate bird woman. I think Mark Gruenwald (who wrote the original Hawkeye mini series in the 80's) was having a bit of fun doing that.
