Homage to Loiselby *PaulRenaud

Traditional Art / Drawings / Fantasy

One of the many goodies you'll find at Lille Comics Convention 2008. This piece I did for a New Year's Wishes card is an homage to Loisel's famous cover of La Quete de l'Oiseau du Temps (The Quest for the Time Bird). I reworked my original drawing for this Print, adding pencil rendering for volume and shading.

Well I'm a big fan of the 3 first volumes of Peter Pan... but I got to say the ending left me a bit cold. Maybe I should give it a second chance because the there was such a gap between each new book.

ok,I must say I had the chance to buy them all in once, so I didn't felt the gap, but on another hand, I didn't enjoyed the end neither, I'm not sure I got it all...do you think the doctor/jack the ripper would be Peter's doppelganger?

Not sure. I think the idea is that Peter is the original reaper, who incidentally, inspired Doctor Jack to liberate his inner demons.
So in a way I agree with your theory.
But I wish Loisel made it LESS clear that Peter commited the crimes. I think it would have been better if the reader was left wondering.

I was already left wondering, and it spoiled my pleasure in the sense that I was wondering too much... but in a way, if it had been less clear, it might have been more enigmatic. we are left with too much doubts by the end (at least, that's my personnal point of view)
